The first phase of the launch of the mobile application is imminent and we are looking for a junior legal counsel to join our team in Luxembourg.Main mission: To support, advise and assist with the day-to-day activities of the Legal Department.The junior legal counsel will report to the general legal director and will closely collaborate with the internal control and compliance teams in the various countries where the company carries out its activities.Duties and Responsibilities:Actively participate in the Legal Department’s activities, which are mainly related to:
- Ensuring compliance of NØELSE’s activities with the laws and regulations across all jurisdictions in which it operates (including control and remediation of the legal and non-conformity risks of NØELSE);
- Ensuring compliance with the regulatory obligations imposed to NØELSE by national regulators;
- Ensuring the regulatory watch and communicate alert points or requested adaptations to the management of the company;
- Contributing to design, drawing-up and periodic review of internal procedures (including, but not limited to policies, procedures, guidelines, practical guides);
- Organizing and participating in NØELSE committees;
- Drawing up reports for internal needs;
- Supporting in the controls related to the compliance with the group activities on anti-money laundering;
- Other ad hoc activities related to the payment sector.
- Level of study: Master’s degree +5 in law;
- Strong legal skills in contract law, banking/financial law, European financial services regulation;
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in a similar position (within a financial institution or a law firm);
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken. Fluency in other languages, such as Italian, Spanish and German, is a significant advantage;
- Thorough knowledge of standard office software (Pack Office);
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent writing, analysis, synthesis and communication skills;
- Very good organization and follow-up skills, rigorous work.
