Bull-ATOS R&D designs and manufactures systems for customer with highest requirements regarding performance and reliability, targeting high performance computers. It includes the optimized software stack for these supercomputers (kernel linux, driver, middleware, communication libraries, parallel programming libraries ).

In order to improve the competitiveness of its systems, Bull-ATOS develops new technologies such as BXI (Bull eXascale Interconnect), a new generation of HPC interconnect designed for Exascale systems.

The software and hardware architecture of the future products are defined within the Architecture department of Product Architecture & Program (PAP), in collaboration with the marketing and development teams.

You will join this team to work on the next generations of BXI software stack. In close collaboration with hardware architects, you will define the new features of the software stack optimized for supercomputers. You will be in charge of writing the high level specifications provided to development teams. You will also keep these specifications updated and support developers following the evolutions of the project.

You are required to have experience in software development and optimization of massively parallel applications. You will propose features optimizing the performance of HPC applications running on a supercomputer embedding a high performance network. This includes the drivers, the communication libraries, the routing algorithms and the fabric management software (administration and supervision of the network). The targeted features will have a focus on performance, scalability and resiliency.
This position is located in one of the Atos / Bull research and development centers, Clayes-sous-Bois or Bruyères-le-Châtel in Ile-de-France or Grenoble or Sophia.

Profile:

Training / Education: Bac + 5, engineering school or university

Required experience: minimum 5 years of experience in software development preferably in an HPC context or in driver development for hardware interface to network or storage.

Technical skills:

Required Skills:

- C/C++

- Good knowledge in networks and Linux Red Hat, CentOS or other Linux distributions;

- Development in OpenSource environment;

Good knowledge or experience in one or several of the following areas would be appreciated :

- Drivers development

- Parallel programing libraries

- Knowledge in integrated software solutions for Intel or ARM server architecture;

- Knowledge in networks infrastructure solutions or in the administration and supervision of HPC or Ethernet networks.

- Experience in a research institute or in an industrial in a HPC context.

Animation of meetings in English, English documents reading and writing.

The quality of your relationship with other peoples (developers team, hardware architect, platform and cluster management, marketing team, external partners), and your ability to analyze and synthesize, will be key to succeed in this position.
