The European Amazon Logistics team is seeking an experienced, innovative, hands on and customer obsessed Sr Manager to lead the delivery station design organization. This roles leads the pan-EU function responsible for all new DS Design layouts and refurbishment designs for all legacy stations.Priorities include standardization, optimization of physical infrastructure, layout and material flow across our Last Mile delivery network, as well as large-scale impacts on capital expenditure decisions. Infrastructure you develop will always be produced to meet safety, customer experience, capacity, quality and cost goals. You will be bar-raising in leading an organization of up to 20 people currently across EU, acting as a key point of contact for the EU Amazon Logistics leadership team and all regional directors of Amazon Logistics. You will also partner with functions such as Design & Construction, Launch & Expansion, Worldwide Design, and your counterparts in other geographical regions; to create the best in class delivery stations designs to support operational customers and capital expenditure targets.
This position requires deep customer focus, strong autonomy and exceptional project management skills. It will involve regular communication with executors and project sponsors at both the European and WW level, and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable partnering across functional business and technical teams. To be successful in this role, you need to pair strong leadership, analytical skills and a data-driven outlook with strong intuition on design elements.
· Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering or Logistics (operational Black Belts welcome).
· Proven experience in a similar process development role, ideally in an industrial, logistics or production/manufacturing environment.
. Proven experience in designing process flows, layouts and/or infrastructure.
· Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other OE tools
· Proven Project Management skills.
· High level of written, verbal skills.
· Fluent in English.
· MBA, MSc or MEng (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent).
· Certified OE Black Belt or Green Belt.
· Knowledge of another EU language desirable (French, German, Italian or Spanish advantageous).
· Advanced data analysis skills and an expert in using supporting tools e.g. Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, MS Access.
· Knowledge and ability to use standard development tools e.g. AutoCAD, MS Visio.
· High level of written, verbal skills.
