Context

Our London Jermyn Street store is looking for a new Sales Associate. The store has been established since 1995 selling ready-to-wear and made-to order shoes and accessories, and has a total team of 5 people.

Main activities

Under the direct responsibility of the Store Manager:


1. Sales floor operations

 Act as a member of the sales team offering excellent customer service, developing and maximising sales opportunities whilst ensuring customer retention.
 Develop an in-depth knowledge of all John Lobb’s products: their features and benefits.
 Ensure that in store displays are constantly reviewed, kept fresh, relevant and attractive at all times.
 Deal with customer queries and correspondence.
 Ensure and participate in excellent aftersales and sales support activities.

2. Stock and back-office management

 Maintain a constant knowledge of the stock that is available in the store and elsewhere.
 Ensure that stock is properly stored and handled and bring stock issues to the attention of the Store Manager.
 Participate in the stock ordering, receiving and maintenance processes.

3. Miscellaneous:

 Contribute to the compilation, maintenance and utilisation of an accurate customer database in support of CRM initiatives.
 Take part of security activities within the company’s guidelines and ensure, as far as practicable, that stock or other property is not put at unnecessary risk.
 Liaise with the wider John Lobb team as necessary in support of the store’s requirements.
 Undertake projects and responsibilities at the direction of the Manager.

Applicant profile
  •  Previous experience (2 years minimum) in high-end/luxury international retail contexts; experience in the shoes / men’s clothing sector would be a plus;
  •  Excellent communication skills: written and oral English;
  •  Fluency in French and/or other languages would be a strong advantage;
  •  Some experience of retail administration. A basic understanding of CRM, databases and e-commerce would be a plus.
  • To complete the profile the candidate has to:
  •  possess a sophisticated approach to selling and customer relations with a special focus on after-sales;
  •  be a team player;
  •  be dynamic, flexible and adaptable;
  •  be proactive and focus on performance;
  •  possess good problem solving skills with an exceptional focus on highly demanding customers.
